For Jose Cuellar, architecture provides not only an outlet for his creative expression, but even more importantly, a platform through which we can promote social change. Immigrating with his family from Mexico at a young age, Jose has seen the sacrifices his parents have made to give him and his siblings more opportunities to succeed. As an immigrant himself, he seeks to give a voice to members of the community, such as his family, whose voices are often unheard. 

Beginning his architecture education in Las Vegas, Jose visited Portland and fell in love with the culture and lifestyle that makes the city unique. He decided to continue his architecture training with graduate school at the University of Oregon in Eugene. After earning his Master of Architecture, Jose moved up to Portland and began his professional architecture career at Leeb Architects, where he is known not only for his design talent but also for his ability to master a task quickly and without hesitation. 

During his free time, Jose enjoys exploring the various breweries and food options found throughout Portland. He also appreciates getting out to listen to live music at a concert or bar, or just relaxing with friends and playing board games.
